At New Close School we believe in creating an atmosphere where all children can work and play happily together. We expect the children to be well-mannered, helpful and to have respect for and sensitivity to the needs of other people.
If a child does not meet the school’s standards of behaviour, then there may be a withdrawal of privileges, e.g. reduced playtime. Where poor levels of behaviour persist, or when there has been a serious incident, parents will be contacted immediately. The School’s Behaviour and Anti Bullying Policies can be accessed by clicking on the links below.
Charging and Remissions
Our policy can be found here: Acorn Education Trust Charging and Remissions Policy.
Educational visits are always advertised in advance and parental permission is sought to take children off site.
These activities are partially funded by voluntary contributions from parents; any charge is the actual cost of each child’s participation and does not constitute a subsidy for other pupils. Full parental support is sought since parents will appreciate that if the cost has to be borne completely by the school, such activities will suffer and may not be able to take place. However, no child will be excluded on grounds of financial difficulty.
Families in receipt of Free School Meals, because they are in receipt of an eligible benefit, will not be asked to contribute to the cost of school trips.
Please feel free to discuss any problems this raises with the Headteacher.
